Who We Are

'SMOKING IS AN ART NOT A SCIENCE'

We live in Essex next to Hanningfield Reservoir near Chelmsford, which is one of the largest trout fisheries in England.

 

We very much enjoy fishing on the Reservoir. We also love the taste of smoked foods and the fantastic flavours that traditional smoking can deliver.

In 2012 we went on a food smoking course in the Lake District to learn how to smoke food at home. We built our own smoker and successfully started smoking our own foods. As we started to experiment with different foods the idea of starting our own business incorporating our new found passion was born.

In January 2013 we were awarded a place on the Essex Innovation Programme by Essex Couny Council. This program enables Essex based businesses to prosper and grow by providing fully funded business support during the start up phase.

This encouraged us to move forward and get our business off the ground. We attended an renowned commercial food smoking course and as a result we have gained the expertise required to prepare and smoke food professionally.

 Our first products are now available for you to try. We hope you enjoy the delicious taste of our hand-smoked products, all of which are prepared and smoked in our own smokehouse on Hanningfield Reservoir in the beautiful Essex countryside.
